Yee Haw! St. Paul's Style!

Every year while the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo is going on, St. Paul's puts on a little rodeo of their own. This year with Kade in public school, Brady was the one to go watch this year. Well, for those of you who don't know Brady very well, he can be quite the character in a small crowd, but get him in a big crowd where the attention is turned on him, he shuts down and refuses to do anything or participate in anything. And so was the case with the rodeo at St. Paul's. Before school that morning he was talking big once again about what all he was going to do at the rodeo. When he walked in with his class and saw all those parents there watching them, all thoughts changed for Brady. He went from Mr. Confident to crying and refusing to participate in any part of the rodeo. For Brady's sake, I really hope this is just a phase that he will overcome soon. He can be such an outgoing little boy, and I wish everyone could see that.

Horse Rides!

At Caleb Maurer's cowboy birthday party, they had a horse there that the kids could ride around the yard. Well, on the way there Brady was talking all big about how he couldn't wait to ride the horse. He got out of the car and marched over there like he was a big man, and that's about as far as he got. At that point he changed his mind and refused to even pet the horse, much less get on and ride it. Kade and Nate, on the other hand, were just the opposite, although Nate wasn't too sure about it at first.

Brotherly Love!

The Tooth Fairy Visits!

Kade has started loosing his baby teeth. One night he was in the bathroom brushing his teeth and one of his bottom teeth fell out and went down the drain. Yes, that's right, we had no tooth to put under the pillow for the tooth fairy. Kade was rather worried that she wouldn't come, so we had to write her a letter explaining what happened to his first tooth lost. He was excited to find the next morning that she had come, taken his letter, and left a little treat behind. He has lost three more since then, and we have managed to get them all to the tooth fairy.

Fun With Cousin Coy!

My nephew Coy and Nate are only three months apart. I love that Nate has someone so close to his age to grow up with. I also love that I get the opportunity to raise these two boys with my sister. Coy and Nate go to the same babysitter, and it is so funny when we get together b/c you can tell that they know each other. I am sure that they will get into plenty of mischief together in the future, and my sister and I will have plenty to worry about between the two of them.

Snow Day!

Even though we didn't get as much snow this winter as we did last winter, we did get enough for a snow day. The weather kind of got our hopes up that we would be expecting around three inches of snow, but the weather turned icy instead of snowy. However, we did get enough snow to make a few snowballs to throw around, and Nate go to see snow for the first time as well. Being that we live in Texas, it something to say that we had snow fall and stick two winters in a row.

10 Months Old!

YEAH!! I am walking. The week that Nate turned 10 months old, he started walking. One evening, he was walking with his little toy walker, and Dane was at the other end of the hallway and was telling Nate to come to him. He all of a sudden let go of the walker and walked the rest of the way to Dane by himself. After that he just got braver and braver and took a few more steps every time he tried. Pretty soon he was going nonstop.
At 1o months of age, Nate was:
*walking on his own
*sleeping through the night (most of the time)
*doing whatever he can to keep up with his older brothers
